Yes. The curriculum at Carpe Diem conforms to the same standards as every other public, private or charter school in the state. Carpe Diem schools are NCA accredited.

What about student achievement?

The Carpe Diem blended learning model has an eight-year record of academic achievement, student success, and productive work environment for teachers and students. The Carpe Diem education model takes the best of face-to-face instruction, digital technology and extended learning opportunities to boost the achievement of our students. Carpe Diem Schools promise to deliver exceptional results; high student academic achievement as measured by state assessment examinations and students with the knowledge, skills and work ethic necessary for success in college, career and life.

Leveraging technology with high quality instruction, Carpe Diem has created a proof point that a blended learning school can produce outstanding achievement. Historically, Carpe Diem students average completion of two years of curriculum in one school year.

At Carpe Diem-Meridian (Indianapolis) for the 2012-13 school year, average growth in Reading and Language Usage is roughly three (3) years school-wide, average growth in Science - General and Science - Concepts is roughly three (3) years school-wide and average growth in Math is roughly four (4) years school-wide.

On the state ECA (End of Course Assessment) exam, 96% of Carpe Diem-Meridian students who were eligible (23/24) scored “Proficient” on Biology I, English 10 exams, and Algebra. The Pass Plus rates (students who exceeded standards) were 29% in Biology I, 60% in Algebra I and 67% in English 10.

Our students learn at their own pace, mastering material prior to moving on to the next level…so they learn at a pace that’s individual to them, not the pace of an entire classroom. Carpe Diem-Meridian students are provided with an opportunity to earn college credits through digital coursework that prepares them to take CLEP exams (College Level Examination Program). Students who successfully pass a course-specific CLEP exam are granted college credits. Over 80% of U.S. colleges and universities recognize and grant college credits for students who successfully pass a CLEP examination.
